 Um Hi? Hi guys!
I moved from Austin to the District about 2 years ago. I did a bit of wakeboarding, wakeskating and trick skiing out on the lakes back home for fun - nothing aggressive. I defintely miss it and have been craving water lately. I actually got to a point last summer where I tried to take up kiteboarding as a substitute (it looks awesome?). Tonight I decided I should just google wakeboarding in DC. Voila!
How is this community with newbies? The female riders a good crowd? I'm rusty (any moderate riders on here?), but I'd like to get out there when it warms up a bit. Anyway, I welcome any advice you have to throw my way, especially on how best to get plugged in to ya'll.

Re: Um Hi? welcome to DCWake. Site is a little slow over the winter, but things should ramp up once the temperatures go up. We have boats in all bodies of water around the area, so just keep you eye on the site and you should have no problems finding a ride. Don't be afraid to ask

Welcome! Yep there are a handful of female riders on here as well. I use rider loosely since i'm not all that great but its just about getting out there and having fun. Everyone is super great and I'm sure you'll have no problem getting your wake fix in!

we have a couple of boats that go out on the potomac during the week between the bridges.
weekends are at lake anna, DAM 4+5 and the patuxent.
as for chicks, I usually have a couple on my boat everrytime we go out. some can ride, some just chill and drink....Boat will be back in the water in april up here, down at lake anna in March once it stops freezing.
keep an eye open next month on this site and come on out and shred
